Austin Area Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners

The Austin Chapter of the ACFE was organized in 1989, and has worked steadily to help educate Certified Fraud examiners and those with whom they work.  In addition the Austin Chapter gives back to the community through scholarships for college students, a source of speakers for community groups, and "Fraud Week" events in November all to help reduce the amount of occupational fraud experienced by businesses.

Purpose and objectives: The Chapter is a not-for-profit entity whose primary purpose is to serve the community by the promotion of improved fraud detection and deterrence and through expansion of knowledge and the interaction of its Members.

The CFE Credential

The Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential denotes proven expertise in fraud prevention, detection and deterrence. CFEs around the world help protect the global economy by uncovering fraud and implementing processes to prevent fraud from occurring in the first place.
