Program Description: This presentation provides a brief overview of some of the frauds that have taken place in domestic and foreign wineries. Some frauds may involve counterfeiting wine, which is completely outside of the control of the winery. More commonly, frauds are committed by winery employees, suppliers, customers, winery management, and outsource providers. The fraud triangle is still at the heart of the frauds…and the aftermaths are (unfortunately) fairly typical.

About the Speaker
Cecily Raiborn has a Ph.D. in Accounting from Louisiana State University. She is a CPA, CMA, and CFE. Dr. Raiborn is currently the McCoy Endowed Chair in Accounting at Texas State University, teaching Intermediate Accounting at the undergraduate and Fraud Prevention and Detection at the graduate level. She is a member of numerous professional organizations and has published a wide variety of articles on fraud prevention, business ethics, and accounting as well as making presentations on those topics at local, national, and international meetings.

Cancellation Policy and No Shows
If you have registered and/or paid for an event and you need to cancel, you MUST email email@example.com no later than 5 days prior to the event, unless otherwise indicated in specific event policies, to request a refund and/or cancel your registration. The Chapter must confirm event registrations with the venue within 5 days of the event and any changes after this time period can become a financial cost to the Chapter. Cancellations received less than 5 days prior to events will not be refunded except for exigent circumstances.
In the event an attendee does not show up to the event, the registration cost will be forfeited. If payment at the door was the selected method, then the attendee will be billed for the full cost of the event. The Chapter reserves the right to bar for future registration any attendees who routinely register and fail to pay and/or attend the event.
